Lighthouses -- Built to Endure

Michigan's Lighthouses were never built to impress. They were built to last -- steady structures shaped by wind, water, and time.  Surrounded by four Great Lakes, the Stat's shoreline stretches for thousands of miles and hundreds of Lighthouses.

Many of the Michigan's iconic lighthouses were built in the mid to late 1800s during the height of Great Lakes shipping. From the rocky shores of Lake Superior to the quiet bends of Lake Michigan, these landmarks guided ships, protected harbors, and become part of the identity of towns around them. Today, they remain some of the most enduring and recognizable structures in Michigan.

This collection is a tribute to the that endurance -- hand-drawn lighthouse sketches that honor simple architecture, lasting craft, and the quiet presence of places built with purpose.
